Online Therapy in Florida: Licensed Therapists, Telehealth, Same Practice as Your Prescriber
Medical disclaimer: This page provides general mental health information and does not replace personalized clinical advice. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency department.
MindSpa Psychiatry & Therapy provides licensed online therapy across Florida. Our therapists see adults by secure video for individual therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and grief counseling. We accept Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, and TRICARE. You can come to MindSpa for therapy only. If medication ever becomes relevant later, our prescribing team works in the same practice and the same record, so you do not have to find a second provider or repeat your story. To start, call 561-576-9404 or learn more about our online mental health care.

Therapy at MindSpa: What’s Included
MindSpa is a full therapy service, not a referral desk. Sessions are delivered by licensed therapists over HIPAA-compliant video, with most clients meeting weekly or every other week for 45 to 50 minutes. We work with adults only and offer individual therapy. We do not provide couples therapy, family therapy, or group therapy at this time.
What Therapy Modalities Does MindSpa Offer?
Our therapists are trained in several evidence-based approaches. The right fit depends on what you are working on, and your therapist will discuss the options with you in the first session.
- Individual therapy for adults, weekly or biweekly
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety, depression, and OCD
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma and PTSD
- Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD
- Supportive therapy and talk therapy for stress, life transitions, and ongoing mental health support
- Grief and loss counseling
You do not need to know which modality you want before booking. Matching the approach to your situation is part of the intake.
Who Are MindSpa’s Therapists?
Therapy at MindSpa is delivered by a team of licensed therapists who are credentialed to practice in Florida. Each therapist works with adults by telehealth and brings a different mix of focus areas.
- Jacqueline Litoff, licensed therapist. Focus areas: anxiety, depression, grief, and adult life transitions.
- Vania Astudillo, licensed therapist. Focus areas: trauma, anxiety, and Spanish-language therapy (please confirm at booking).
- Danielle Guido, licensed therapist. Focus areas: depression, anxiety, and CBT-based work.
- Joseph Lee, licensed therapist. Focus areas: stress, burnout, and supportive therapy.
Additional licensed therapists are on staff. When you call, our team matches you to a therapist whose schedule and focus areas fit what you are working on.
Are MindSpa’s Therapists Licensed in Florida?
Yes. Every therapist who sees MindSpa clients is licensed by the State of Florida to provide mental health services. Florida licensure is required for any clinician to deliver therapy to a patient physically located in Florida, including by video, and we verify that credential before any therapist joins the practice.
Conditions We Address in Therapy
Therapy at MindSpa is appropriate for adults working through specific clinical conditions and for people who want help with a defined life issue. We commonly see clients for:
- Anxiety treatment, including generalized anxiety, panic, and social anxiety
- Depression treatment and persistent low mood
- PTSD treatment and trauma processing
- OCD treatment, including exposure-based work where appropriate
- ADHD treatment coping strategies, often alongside medication management
- Grief, loss, and major life transitions
- Relationship stress, work stress, and burnout
If your situation does not appear on this list, call and describe what you are dealing with. We will tell you honestly whether therapy at MindSpa is a good fit or whether you would be better served elsewhere.
Therapy and Medication Management: How They Work Together
A lot of people come to MindSpa for therapy and never see a prescriber. That is a normal path here. You are not signing up for medication by starting therapy.
The integration matters in one practical way. If, months into therapy, you and your therapist agree that a medication management evaluation might help, you do not have to find a new provider, request records, or explain your history from scratch. Your therapist can refer you internally, your prescriber sees the same chart, and the two clinicians can coordinate directly instead of asking you to relay messages.
The reverse is also true. If you started at MindSpa with medication management and want to add therapy, we can match you to a therapist on staff without a new intake at a separate practice.
Do I Need to See a Prescriber If I Come for Therapy?
No. Therapy-only is a complete service at MindSpa. The prescribing team exists for clients who need it. Your therapist will not push you toward an evaluation, and medication decisions only happen if you ask for them and a clinician agrees they are appropriate.
What to Expect at Your First Therapy Session
Your first session is not therapy yet. It is your therapist getting to know your situation, your history, and what you want to work on. You will not be asked to discuss anything before you are ready, and most clients leave the first session feeling clearer about the road ahead rather than emotionally exposed.
Plan for 45 to 50 minutes by secure video. Be somewhere private with reliable internet. Your therapist will ask about your current concerns, prior mental health treatment, medical history, family context, and what a good outcome would look like for you. By the end of the session, you and your therapist will agree on a working focus and a session schedule.
How Often Will I Have Therapy Sessions?
Most clients meet weekly at the start, then move to every other week as progress allows. Some people stay weekly for the duration of treatment. The cadence is set with your therapist based on what is clinically useful, not on a fixed package.
Insurance and Self-Pay for Therapy
MindSpa is in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, and TRICARE. Our team verifies your benefits before your first session so you know your copay or coinsurance ahead of time.
Self-pay rates are $200 for the initial evaluation and $150 for follow-up sessions. Some plans cover therapy and prescribing at different rates, so we confirm therapy-specific coverage at intake.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy? A: For most common mental health conditions, yes. Research on videoconferencing therapy has consistently shown clinical equivalence to in-person care for conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The American Psychological Association recognizes telehealth as a valid format for psychotherapy when delivered by a licensed clinician over a secure platform. MindSpa uses HIPAA-compliant video for every session.
Q: What is the difference between a therapist and a prescriber at MindSpa? A: A therapist is a licensed mental health professional who provides talk therapy and structured therapies like CBT, CPT, and Prolonged Exposure. A prescriber at MindSpa is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medication. Therapists do not prescribe; prescribers do not typically provide ongoing therapy. The two roles work alongside each other when both are needed.
Q: Do I need a referral to start therapy in Florida? A: No. Florida does not require a physician referral for outpatient therapy. Most insurance plans also do not require a referral for in-network mental health services, but we verify this for your specific plan during intake.
Q: Does insurance cover online therapy in Florida? A: Most plans we accept cover telehealth therapy at the same rate as in-person therapy. We are in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, and TRICARE. Coverage details vary by plan, so we verify benefits before your first session.
Q: How quickly can I start therapy at MindSpa? A: Most new clients have a first session within a few business days of calling. Wait times depend on which therapist you are matched with and your availability for evening or daytime appointments.
Q: Can I do therapy only, without seeing a prescriber? A: Yes. Therapy-only is a complete service at MindSpa, and many of our clients never see a prescriber. You are not enrolling in medication management by starting therapy, and your therapist will not pressure you toward an evaluation. The prescribing team is available only if and when you want it.
